Light Runes
A Break In The Clouds
Although they’d imagined a bright, sunny day in which to explore the ruins as a class, these ancient stone walls have become their shelter against the rain. Attempts by teachers to try and corral the children into anything but a perpetually shifting mass of uniforms has been abandoned for the moment. All of the students have broken into their little groups to eat their lunch and chatter. The two girls on the end of the bench - which has stood through too many rainstorms over the millennia to even begin to count - watch in fascination as a tiny patch of sun shines through a crack in the clouds. A moment later, it has closed up again, the clouds swallowing it like a lake swallows a stone, and they rejoin the conversation. |
